Each year, Discovery nominates a charity to support through volunteering, fundraising, and pro-bono research.

In an average class, 8 children leave primary school unable to read well.
These children often struggle in school, and beyond. Reading isn't just about books. It's about reading a road sign, a safety manual, a birthday card. It's understanding a job application or an important letter from your bank.
Bookmark reading charity gives children the reading skills and confidence they need for a fair chance in life through a volunteer-led programme. For the children who need us, we're changing their story.

WHAT ARE WE DOING TO SUPPORT BOOKMARK?
Volunteering
Throughout 2023, each of our staff will take part in six-week reading programmes. The programme involves two 30-minute sessions a week with the same child between 5 and 10 years, for six weeks.
Fundraising
During the summer, we will be carrying out a company-wide fundraising event to support the vital work of Bookmark.
Research support
We will also be supporting Bookmark by offering to carry out a qualitative research project free of charge.
